Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Basim Khairi Khudair, Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences at Al-Muthanna University, the Postgraduate Studies Division, in cooperation with Urooq Journal for Human Sciences, organized a scientific workshop titled “How to Choose the Right Journal within Scopus Indexing and Track a Paper to Archiving.”
The workshop was led by Dr. Saif Majeed Hussein, Managing Editor of Urooq Journal for Human Sciences, and Dr. Mustafa Falah Ubaid, Head of the Postgraduate Studies Division.
The session included a detailed explanation of the importance of publishing in Scopus-indexed journals as a means of enhancing the academic credibility of journals and the quality of published research. It also outlined the fundamental criteria Scopus uses to index academic journals.
In addition, the workshop covered the practical steps that researchers should follow to publish in Scopus-indexed journals—starting with selecting the appropriate journal and verifying its inclusion in the official Scopus database, through understanding academic publishing requirements, and finally reaching the stage of archiving the paper after acceptance and publication.
The workshop concluded with a series of insightful discussions and academic interventions that clarified submission mechanisms for international journals and how to engage with recognized publishers to ensurethe indexing of research within global repositories—ultimately strengthening both the researcher’s and the institution’s academic standing.
